Last Tuesday 13th July, the Everton Football Club teamed up with Metamorphic in a fundraising cocktail evening in aid of our Water4Water intitiative, which provides clean, safe drinking water to communities in developing countries around the world.
It was a brilliant evening, with 150 people attending and really getting into the spirit of the evening. Australian Idol judge Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson did a fantastic job as MC for the evening and proved very popular with attendees, graciously posing for numerous photos throughout the evening.
The Everton FC team were also in hot demand for photo ops, none more-so than Australia’s own Tim Cahill, just back from the World Cup. Tim posed with fans and supporters all evening, only taking a break to be interviewed on stage by Dicko.
A big thank-you goes out to all who attended and bought raffle tickets, made donations and bid on items in the charity auctions. Your contribution will have a significant and lasting effect on the lives of many people who, without your generous support, would lack the basic right of access to clean water.
Among the items won and/or sold in the raffle draw and auction were:
- A trip for 2 people to the UK to watch Everton play at home, including box seats – Two of these prizes were up for auction
- A trip for 2 people to Cambodia to see Water4Water projects first hand, with a further 2 days visiting iconic Angkor Wat.
- A year’s supply of Chang Beer (Chang are sponsors of the Everton team)
- Signed Everton FC and Melbourne Heart shirts.
All funds raised on the evening will go towards water and other poverty alleviation projects in Asia and Africa.
Special thanks go to the following for their contribution to the success of the evening:
- Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson
- Rod Stewart
- Everton Football Club
- Chang Beer
- The brilliant auctioneer team from Stockdale and Leggo Auctioneers
- Our fantastic volunteers from Eastside Church
If you had a photo taken on the night by Metamorphic’s photographer Tim Humble, images should be posted online in the next few weeks. Watch this space for more info.
